Our Billing Policy
BILLING POLICY
Mermaid Plaza Medical & Cosmetics Centre is a bulk billing practice for all Medicare rebateable items including After Hours consultations. Bulk billing is available for all valid Medicare, DVA and Overseas Student Health Card holders.
Fees are payable for non-rebateable Medicare items at the time of your consultation by cash or EFTPOS.
A private facility fee may be charged for costs associated with procedures, excisions and dressings. This fee is not rebateable by Medicare.
Our practice offers bulk billing services to all patients with a valid Medicare Card / DVA Card, for standard appointments. Practice and facility fees may apply for certain appointment types and patients will be advised of any out of pocket expense prior to their appointment or at the time of booking.
If you have difficulty in paying our fees, please discuss this with our Practice Manager.

Please telephone our practice to schedule an appointment. Alternatively, you may visit our website to make an appointment online or through Hotdocs – www.hotdocs.com.au
Children who are unwell and emergencies will always be given priority. Our staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or your doctor has been called away. Each doctor has ‘on the day’ bookings available for patients.
A standard consultation is 10 minutes. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our staff if you require some extra time or if you have more than one item to discuss with your doctor. If booking online you can choose a longer appointment time.
Please telephone the practice and advise our administration staff if you have been delayed or will not be able to attend your appointment.
A missed appointment fee of $50 may be charged if a patient has repeated this more than once.
Interpreting services are available for patients.
